Recombinant (HIV-1) CRF02_AG Tat produced in E.coli. The HIV-1 CFR02_AG Tat protein is a molecule of 101 aminoacids encoded by two exons and having a molecular mass of 20.1kDa in SDS-PAGE.
Recombinant TAT CRF02_AG
Description
HIV-1 circulating recombinant forms (CRFs) represent viral recombinant lineages that play a significant role in the global epidemic. Two of them dominate the epidemic in Burkina Faso: CRF06_cpx (first described in this country) and CRF02_AG. We reconstructed the phylodynamics of both recombinant viruses in Burkina Faso and throughout West Africa.(Infect Genet Evol. 2016 Yebra G1, Kalish ML2, Leigh Brown AJ3.)
Multiple HIV-1 subtypes and circulating recombinant forms (CRFs) are known to cocirculate in Africa. In West Africa, the high prevalence of CRF02_AG and cocirculation of subtype A, CRF01_AE, CRF06_cpx, and other complex intersubtype recombinants has been well documented. Cocirculation of CRF02_AG strain with other genetic subtypes may give rise to novel and complex HIV-1 recombinants.
