Description

Fusobacterium nucleatum has been shown to play a central role in dental plaque formation and other diseases like gingivitis. This is due to its ability to adhere to a wide range of both Gram-positive and Gram-negative plaque microorganisms. F. nucleatum is very often associated with periodontitis, along with invasive human infections of the head and neck, chest, lung, liver and abdomen. Due to its adherence ability, it can be associated with viruses, which adhere to host tissue cells as an invasion and modulate the host’s immune response. The pathogenic potential of Fusobacterium nucleatum and its significance in the development of periodontal diseases, as well as in infections in other organs, have gained new interest for several reasons. First, this bacterium has a very high chance to be pathogenic because of its high frequency in periodontal lesions, its production of irritants that affect the tissue, its ability to co-aggregate and form mutual synergisms with other bacteria in mixed infections and its ability to form numerous aggregates with other suspected pathogens in periodontal disease. Secondly, F. nucleatum is very common in clinical infections of other body sites. In the last few years it is intensively investigated the role of Fusobacterium nucleatum in atherosclerosis development and in promoting or inflicting different cancers.

Rabbit anti Streptococcus oralis
Streptococcus oralis is a commensal bacteria and is found in the human oral cavity. S. oralis is a component of the normal human oral microbiota, and is capable of opportunistic pathogenicity. The antibody against S. oralis is an aid in the oral pathogens reaserch and in the diagnostic test development

Rabbit anti Porphyromonas gingivalis
Porphyromonas gingivalis is an anaerobic, Gram-negative bacterium that can be found in individuals' oral cavities This bacterium is the principal source of periodontal disease. It has been found that in addition to causing human infections, the antibody against P. gingivalis is an aid in the oral pathogens research and in the diagnostic test development.

Rabbit anti Streptococcus mutans FITC
Streptococcus mutans is a Gram-positive bacterium that lives in the mouth. The bacterium metabolizes different kinds of carbohydrates, creating an acidic environment in the mouth as a result of this process. This acidic environment in the mouth is what causes the tooth decay. S. mutans is considered to be the most cariogenic of all of the oral Streptococci. The antibody against S.Mutans is an aid in the oral pathogens reaserch and in the diagnostic test development.
