Description
ZMPSTE24 is a metalloproteinase involved in the maturation of the Lamin A protein. Lamin A is an essential component of the nuclear membrane, providing structural function and transcriptional regulation in the cell nucleus. Different human progeroid syndromes are caused by mutations in ZMPSTE24 or LMNA genes which undergo under the term laminopathies. The ZMPSTE24 gene amplification kit for direct sequencing is intended for the simultaneous amplification of all exons included in human ZMPSTE24 gene. After PCR, all amplicons can be easily sequenced with M13 universal primers.
