Description
Lamin A is an essential component of the nuclear membrane, providing structural function and transcriptional regulation in the cell nucleus. Mutations of Lamin A and related proteins are known to induce various types of human genetic disorders and diseases including premature aging syndromes, muscular dystrophy, lipodystrophy and neuropathy, known under the term laminopathies. The LMNA gene amplification kit is intended for the simultaneous amplification of all exons included in human LMNA gene, which codes for the protein lamin A. After PCR, all amplicons can be easily sequenced with M13 universal primers.
