Antigen 85B is the most abundant protein exposed by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is a potent immunoprotective antigen and a leading drug target. It is a mycolyl transferase in the myc pathway and catalyses – like Ag85A and Ag85C- the transfer of the fatty acid mycolate from one trehalose monomycolate to another, resulting in trehalose dimycolate and free trehalose and helping to build the cell wall.Polyclonal antiAg85B antibody is designed for the detection of LLO in in infected speciment as an useful tool in the research of mycobacterial tubercolosis infections
Rabbit Anti Mycobacterial tubercolosis Ag85B
Description
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) is a pathogenic bacterial species in the family Mycobacteriaceae and the causative agent of most cases of tuberculosis (TB). First discovered in 1882 by Robert Koch, M. tuberculosis has an unusual, waxy coating on its cell. Antigen 85B is the most abundant protein expressed by Mycobacterium tuberculosis (about one quarter). It is a myocolyc transferase in the myc pathway and catalyses – like Ag85A and Ag85C – the transfer of the fatty acid mycolate from one trehalose monomycolate to another, resulting in trehalose dimycolate and free trehalose and helping build the cell wall.
