p24 protein is the major core protein of HIV virus particle and has been suggested as a specific target for antiviral strategies. The anti p24 polyclonal antibody would be useful for detect p24 protein as a useful tool on HIV-1 reserch. Polyclonal anti p24 antibody is designed for the detection of p24 core antigen in human serum or plasma from infected individuals as well as in cell culture supernatant.
Rabbit Anti HIV-1 p24
Description
The gag gene of human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) encodes a precursor protein known as Pr55Gag. The viral protease PR cleaves this precursor to generate p17, p24, p7, and p6 proteins which are required for virus particle assembly. p24 protein is detectable starting from the early stage of AIDS virus infection, for this reason it is an interesting marker for disease progression in infected patients. HIV-1 p24 is a major viral core structural protein. Its measurement is commonly used as an indicator of HIV-1 infection and viral load.
